Master of Science

Our Master of Science in Cybersecurity is open to candidates from all academic and professional backgrounds. Applicants must submit the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree: A four-year bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited institution.

• Application Form: A completed and signed graduate application for admission.

• Academic Records: Official transcripts from all previous college or university study (and copies of diplomas or proof of degree completion).

• Identification: A copy of a government-issued photo ID.

The curriculum consists of 39 credits in total, providing a broad foundation in cybersecurity principles and practices. The final course is a capstone project that integrates all your learning:

• SEC5000 Security Fundamentals and Risk Management (3 credits): Introduces core cybersecurity concepts, frameworks, and risk management strategies to protect organizations from evolving threats.

• SEC5001 Cyber Analyst and Cryptography (3 credits): Covers cryptographic methods and analytical techniques to secure communications and safeguard sensitive data.

• SEC5002 Integrative Cybersecurity Management (3 credits): Focuses on leadership, governance, and policy approaches for managing enterprise-wide cybersecurity programs.

• SEC5003 Legal Aspects of Security (3 credits): Explores laws, regulations, and compliance requirements shaping cybersecurity practices globally.

• SEC5004 Network and Operating Systems Security (3 credits): Examines defense mechanisms for operating systems, networks, and protocols to maintain secure environments.

• SEC5005 Database and Application Security (3 credits): Provides strategies to secure databases and applications against vulnerabilities, breaches, and unauthorized access.

• SEC6001 Intrusion Detection & Prevention Systems and Forensic Analysis (3 credits): Teaches methods to monitor, detect, prevent, and investigate cyber intrusions through forensic techniques.

• SEC6002 Vulnerability Management (3 credits): Covers tools and processes to identify, assess, and mitigate security weaknesses in systems and networks.

• SEC6003 Security Audit (3 credits): Focuses on auditing practices to evaluate system security, compliance, and risk exposure.

• SEC6004 Security Administration and Business Continuity Planning (3 credits): Prepares students to manage security operations and design business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

• SEC6005 Ethical Hacking (3 credits): Introduces penetration testing tools and techniques to ethically identify and remediate system vulnerabilities.

• SEC6006 Cybersecurity Capstone Project (6 credits): A culminating project where students apply technical and managerial skills to solve a real-world cybersecurity challenge.

Note: Courses are not sequential and may be offered in any term within the 14-month program timeline, except for SEC6006, which is scheduled for the final term.
