Maritza Álvarez Féliz, PhD
Maritza Isabel Álvarez Féliz is a transformational leader and Dominican educator with a Doctorate in Instructional and Organizational Leadership with a concentration in curriculum from Nova Southeastern University (United States). She also holds a Master of Science in Education (TESOL) from the same institution and completed postgraduate studies in Education and Teaching at the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU) in the Dominican Republic.
With over three decades of experience in education, she has served as Academic Director at Colegio Mundo María Montessori, High School Principal at St. Thomas School, and currently works as Head of the Language Arts and Social Studies Department and AP Language and Literature Teacher at Saint Michael’s School in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Dr. Álvarez has led academic accreditation and governance committees, conducted international workshops, and served as a guest speaker at the Tri-Association Conference. She received the 2018 Turnitin Global Innovation Award for Excellence in Academic Integrity for Latin America and the Caribbean. A member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, she is recognized for her commitment to ethics, educational innovation, and the holistic development of students.
